JOB DESCRIPTION
The Freeman Corporation is one of the largest and most progressive veneer manufacturers in North America. We continue to invest heavily to be the supplier of choice to the top producers worldwide of flooring, doors, hardwood plywood, furniture, cabinets, and other industries. At this plant we employ approximately 220 people.
The Applicant must have good communication and people skills, experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, possess mechanical and electrical knowledge. We are currently looking to hire for second shift. Salary commensurate with skills, experience, and potential.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrician is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of facility electrical equipment. This position performs installation, monitoring, maintenance, repair, and/or design modification of high-tech distributed manufacturing and industrial process control systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Repair, replace and install sensors, transformers, circuit breakers, motors, photo eyes, conduit systems, switches, defective writing, etc.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace PLC’s, Frequency Drives and related electronic hardware.
- Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment.
- Use wiring diagrams to plan and execute electrical repairs and installations.
- Make proper use of tools such as hacksaws, pipe benders, pipe threaders, hammers and screw drivers, splice wires and install conduit, panel boards, switch boxes, motors and drives and other electrical equipment.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule.
- Maintain housekeeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and preferably 5 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Proficiency in electrical skills: PLC programing, electrical circuits, schematics, servo motors, familiarity with 4603 PH wiring, and fluent reading and speaking English.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
