Primary Position Objectives

Under supervision and guidance of the IT Manager, the IT Intern is responsible for the setup and maintenance of computer equipment following established computer procedures.

Position Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Description of Duties

Supports the Co. Computer systems

Prepares computers and peripherals for deployment.
Performs installation of computers and peripherals at user workstations.
Performs routine cleaning, maintenance and basic repair of computers and peripherals.
Assists with asset inventory.
Assists with the setup and maintenance of printers and other peripheral devices.
Assists with the disposition of failed and obsolete computer systems and equipment.
Assist users with basic computer problems on the telephone and in person.
Assists with the organization of spare parts and supplies in the IT Dept.
May be required to assist other IT Department personnel.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

College student majoring in a Computer Science or Information Technology field
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Windows based computer hardware and software as used in a commercial business computing environment.
Ability to use standard hand tools to perform various computer hardware assembly and maintenance tasks.
Excellent interpersonal communications skills, both written and verbal.
Able to perform assigned duties and tasks with a minimal amount of supervision.
