Introduction
Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Construction Administrator position. This position is a contract to direct hire opportunity, which is located in Orlando, FL and will be on-site. The position is expected to transition to a direct hire with client.


Summary
The Construction Administrator will be responsible for playing a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of land development construction projects. They serve as a liaison between engineers, contractors, and clients, coordinating building permits and ensuring compliance with plans. This role demands excellent communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a positive demeanor. Responsibilities include administrative assistance, phone and email correspondence, and maintaining a professional and helpful presence in the workplace and on project sites. Successful candidates will be proficient in clerical tasks, possess strong attention to detail, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to meeting the needs of others.

Responsibilities

  • Offer input, ideas, and concerns that will improve the quality of our work to Leadership.
  • Report directly to the Project Manager and work closely with engineers on assigned projects, fostering cooperation among various teams and the permitting department.
  • Inform the Engineer E2 of any deviation from the planned scope, schedule, or budget for an assigned task.
  • Follow specified project communication procedures.
  • Perform research on the required permits needed during the proposal phase.
  • Assist Team Leaders and Project Managers in the preparation of proposals and add service requests.
  • Serve as a liaison between engineers, contractors, and owner/developer, facilitating communication and coordination of plans.
  • Coordinate the distribution of updated plan sets to contractors, ensuring all parties have the necessary information.
  • Conduct field visits to verify compliance with plans and assist contractors with on-site coordination.
  • Address any issues that may arise with inspectors, acting as a point of contact to resolve concerns promptly.
  • Attend OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor), meetings providing updates and facilitating collaboration between stakeholders.
  • Prepare and send reports detailing site visits and observations, serving as a key communicator and mediator.

Qualified candidates would have the following:

  • Minimum requirement of an Associate's degree (AA).
  • Preferred candidates possess 1-3 years of background in construction or engineering to bring relevant industry knowledge and experience to the role.
  • Possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for transportation needs.
  • Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements as specified by contractors, including wearing hard hats, boots, jeans, vests, etc.
  • Demonstrate physical capability to walk around and stand for extended periods of time during field visits.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in reading construction plans to facilitate understanding and coordination.
  • Preferred prior experience with permitting processes to streamline project management.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
  • Comfortable working within a small team environment, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
  • Desirable background in construction or engineering to bring relevant industry knowledge and experience to the role.
  • Ability to manage workflow while multitasking.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
