JOB SUMMARY
Position Title: Subsidy Specialist / Case Management for Subsidy Eligibility
Program: Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC)
Classification: Non-exempt / Hourly
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Implementation:
- Works independently, efficiently and with integrity
- Maintains confidentiality of protected customer and program information
- Provides excellent customer service, responds to customer's concerns, and works towards resolution.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Assists with coverage when someone is out or when projects/deadlines need to be met.
- Works with coworkers in a respectful, meaningful way to best serve the customers and to develop best practices for workflow and projects.
Customer Service:
- Responds to client and provider concerns and works towards resolving problems.
- Works with clients as needed to obtain provider locations/services for enrollments.
Continuous Quality & Performance Improvement:
- For ongoing eligibility verifies that all information either remains the same or updates changes and accurately processes the changes as aligned by OCDEL policies
- Cases are audited for quality assurance and standards must be met.
- Provides accurate and timely VRMA data.
Planning & Organizing:
- Complies with office procedures and expectations to ensure time mandated requirements on work processes.
- Maintains a caseload and ensures organization of workflow to meet required deadlines.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field, or high school diploma with two years' experience in Human Services Work
- Experience working with low-income families and community services preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to write accurate, complete, and professional case notes.
- Ability to complete paperwork, maintain consistent accurate records, handle multiple tasks and work with autonomy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proven track record of maintaining a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with clients, customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Ability to treat clients, co-workers and public in a respectful and courteous manner at all times.
- Ability to develop a sense of community with staff, program participants and volunteers.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in the face of other's distress
