Orthopedic Technician

Job Summary

This position is responsible for applying and removing casts of patients as instructed by the physicians. It also serves as a dual role of Medical Assistant when not providing casting services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Application of casts to patients that have fractures
Removal of casts as directed as directed by the physicians
Reduction of fractures as directed by the physicians
Remove or reapply dressings, remove sutures, perform injections, taking vitals, and all other routine procedures
Follow established sterilization processes
Follow proper rooming protocols
Ensure end-of-day tasks are completed
Comply with all HIPAA, OSHA, and other government guidelines
Comply will all processes to meet government reporting requirements
Other duties as assigned

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

Orthopedic Technician Certification preferred

Education and/or Experience
