We are the official destination marketing organization (DMO) and convention and visitors bureau (CVB) for the five boroughs of New York City. Our mission is to maximize travel and tourism opportunities throughout the City, build economic prosperity and spread the dynamic image of New York City around the world.

Ongoing Freelance Opportunities

NYC Tourism + Conventions Creative/Content team produces inspiring, Webby and Emmy award–winning work that reflects New York City’s energy and diversity. That work can be seen in a range of digital and social channels, including NYCtourism.com and @NYCtourism; across key programs like NYC Restaurant Week® and NYC Broadway Week; and through partnerships with leading tourism and hospitality organizations at home and worldwide. 

Our design team works on an exciting variety of projects, from full-fledged promotional campaigns to trade shows and events, to emails and presentation decks. Projects may run anywhere from a week to several months. We’re looking for freelance multidisciplinary designers to add to our on-call roster of talent. We typically work with freelancers remotely, using Slack and Basecamp to coordinate on projects and tasks.

Applicants should bring strong skills in the Adobe Suite, ability to juggle multiple projects on tight deadlines, an eye for detail— and, of course, a love of New York City.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Comfortable working within Brand Guidelines
• Knowledge of typography and design principles
• A good eye for composition and clarity
• Experienced in working with print and digital formats
• Ability to work within tight deadlines
• Curiosity and interest in expanding skillset

Primary Skillset:

• Visual and Graphic Design: Adobe Creative Suite a must

Bonus Skillsets:

• Digital: Figma and/or Webflow
• Motion graphics / Animation: After Effects

New York City Tourism + Conventions discloses salary ranges for positions to adhere to local pay transparency laws. For this position, the rate is between $60 and $75 per hour. Your actual salary or rate will depend on various factors such as your skills, experience, location, and other relevant considerations.
