Job Overview:

Sedona Staffing is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Coding/Billing Specialist to join our team in Waco, TX. This full-time position primarily involves data entry related to medical coding and billing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical coding practices, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry:
- Accurately input and update patient information, medical codes, and billing details into the company's database.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of medical claims and invoices.
Medical Coding:
- Assign appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, treatments, and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS code sets.
- Review medical records to identify and extract relevant information for coding purposes.
Billing:
- Generate and submit medical claims to insurance companies and other third-party payers.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to resolve billing issues and ensure timely reimbursement.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and coding guidelines.
- Organize and maintain accurate records of coding and billing activities for auditing and reporting purposes.
Communication:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve coding and billing inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless coordination of coding and billing processes.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification in medical coding/billing is preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical coding and billing.
Proficiency in medical coding systems, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations and billing practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
