Summary
We are also looking for someone with experience working with mounting and balance tires, inventory control, and quality assurance in their background. This is in a warehouse where tires are tested. The right candidate will have a background or experience of checking tires for flaws and other product defects.
The Tire Cutting Technician is responsible for assisting in all functions of the technical center's warehouse and supporting all departments within. This role is very dynamic and needs a sharp and reliable person to fill it.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Cutting PC, Truck and OTR Tires on various tire cutting (band-saw) machines
- Grinding and Buffing Tire sections on Grinders and Belt Sanders
- Performing Preventative Maintenance on Tire Saws and Grinders as needed
- Performing daily Cleaning of Tire Saw and Grinders and surrounding area
- Use all safety related PPE such as gloves, safety glasses and tire cages while doing any work.
- Unload and palletize tires by hand to be properly stored in warehouse.
- Learn visual inspection process requiring constant turning of tires.
- Inspects tires for defects, segregate them in accordance of standards, process claim tires and report observed conditions to determine the proper course for resolution of the claim.
- Prepares reports and maintains logs for all reported complaints and claims with details of the incident, found tire conditions, dates of all communications, and date of final resolution.
- Maintains oversight of claims service expenses and tire warranty expenses associated with claims.
- Reconcile to receiving paperwork, sign paperwork and enter warehouse management system
- Provides other services as requested by the department.
- Ensure periodical updates of current warranty policies and procedures.
- Coordination of processing of customer warranty claims, provide daily performance reports; manage warranty claims including inspection, analysis, collections and quality reporting.
- Handle denaturing process for all scrap tires and coordinate disposal of all scrap tires.
- Ensure that samples (cut sections of full tires) of tires with product related concerns are delivered to respective QA teams.
- Inventory control and cycle counting to ensure accurate storage of product.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

- Warehouse maintenance and cleaning

- Additional work as needed tire cutting, sectioning, buffing, experimental tire warehouse worker

Skills Required
- Experience with cutting PC, Truck and OTR Tires on various tire cutting (band-saw) machines
- Warehouse and Forklift Experience
- Technical tire experience
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel
- Experience working with multiple departments in an organization
