Job Description
Salary: $130,000-$145,000/year

FXCollaborative is an established architectural, interior design, planning, and urban design firm based in Brooklyn, NY. Noted for its commitment to sustainable design, the firm has been recognized through local, national, and international design excellence awards and feature articles in the most prestigious design publications. The practice encompasses corporate, civic, cultural, educational, transportation, residential, hospitality, office, retail, and mixed-use projects on a variety of scales.

 

We are currently seeking a dedicated Finance Manager with at least 6-10 years of experience. Working directly with the CFO, the Finance Manager will assist with implementing policy, advising & training staff and ensuring a proper system of financial control and reporting is in place.



Responsibilities:


  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and ensuring internal controls are being followed.
  • Oversees the client invoicing, accounts payable, expense reporting, timesheet processing and project set-up, maintenance and review processes and works with team members to identify ways to improve the process and implement best practices.
  • Responsible for the preparation of interim monthly and quarterly financial statements including balance sheet, income statement and related KPIs.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the monthly financial close and bank reporting including preparing and posting monthly closing entries.
    • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
    • Maintain Fixed Asset register
    • Financial Analysis Reporting
    • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
    • Reporting on projects, maintaining project records and budgets
  • Responsible for monitoring cash movement by preparing daily bank to book cash analysis with projection for month end and annual balances, coordinating disbursements and ensuring a process is in place for the collection of cash.
  • Coordinate with the HR team the review and approval of the bi-weekly payroll through Paychex.
  • Liaising with external auditors involving year-end accounts and workers compensation , including formulization of audit reporting.
  • Assists CFO with compiling required information for tax planning and compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation of Annual budgets and Quarterly Forecasts by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Fielding various requests from other departments or individuals on various topics.
  • Oversees the onboarding training process for new employees relative to time tracking, project reporting and other processes necessary to have financially literate project managers and employees.
  • Supervise accounting team of 2-3 people.
  • Ad-hoc reporting as required.


Requirements:


  • Minimum BS Degree in Accounting from an accredited university required.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in all aspects of accounting.
  • Previous experience working in an A/E/C firm a plus. 
  • Prior supervisory experience strongly desired.
  • Duties require broad conceptual judgment, initiative, and ability to deal with complex accounting issues.
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting including thorough skills knowledge plus the application of general accounting theory.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains financial staff job performance by coaching, mentoring employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrates strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with the proven ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines.
  • Written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel software programs, required.
  • Must be proficient in Deltek Vision and Deltek Report Writer, strongly preferred.
