Claims Representative

Growing, veteran-owned and multi-state relocation service provider headquartered in Lorton, VA seeks professional Claims Representative to support our Claims Department. We are an award-winning firm providing moving and storage services to Washington, DC’s elite clientele, transitioning DoD personnel, international corporations, government officials, and civilian customers. Our Claims Specialist is responsible for processing household goods claims resulting from domestic and international moves. Primary duties for our Claims Representative role include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Answers inbound calls and provides customers with information and forms for filing a claim

• Receives, researches, processes, and responds to household goods claims in a timely manner

• Communicates with customers, both verbally and in writing, regarding the status of their claim

• Creates, updates, files, and maintains claims-related records

• Coordinates with other departments and updates systems concerning claim settlements

• Analyzes and reports on claims-related data to improve crew performance, the customer experience, and reduce claims-related expenses

• Identifies vendors to provide inspections or repairs and schedules appointments with them and the customers as needed

• Provides other clerical and administrative support to staff as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

• Thorough investigative skills with a keen attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• A positive, service-oriented attitude with an urgency to complete tasks to facilitate a high level of customer satisfaction

• Exceptional organizational skills and follow through abilities

• The ability to work quickly without sacrificing work quality and meet established deadlines

• Computer literate and financially savvy

• Minimum 2+ years of experience with the same employer demonstrating the above

• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to/from work daily at our location in Lorton, VA

*Knowledge of, or experience in, the insurance and/or household goods/transportation industry is preferred!*
