Contract Photo Editor

Purple, Rock, Scissors has an exciting contract opportunity for an experienced Photo Editor to support a large tech client of ours.

Contract: 20 hours per week for 3 months (must be able to collaborate during normal business hours)

Location: Remote

Responsibilities

• Photo Editing & Color Grading: Enhance raw photos for integration within 3D scenes, ensuring consistency in color grading, lighting, and overall mood.
• 2D Texture Creation and Painting: Generate high-quality 2D textures for 3D models using a combination of photo manipulation, digital painting, and procedural generation techniques.
• Landscape Manipulation: Creatively manipulate landscape photographs to achieve desired artistic effects and environmental moods.
• Collaboration: Work closely with 3D modelers and designers to ensure textures and photo elements align with the project's overall visual direction.
• Attention to Detail: Maintain exceptional quality standards and meticulous attention to detail across all texture work.
• Asset Management: Contribute to effective organization and maintenance of the project's texture library.

• Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and familiarity with industry-standard texturing software (Substance Painter, Mari, etc.)
• Visual Sensibility: Excellent understanding of color theory, composition, lighting, and a keen eye for visual detail.
• Adaptability: Ability to adjust work styles and techniques to match different project aesthetics.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to collaborate effectively and receive feedback.
• Experience/familiarity with 3D software (Blender, 3DS Max, Maya, Houdini etc.)
• Knowledge of procedural texturing techniques and visual effects

• 5+ years of experience in visual design, 3D VFX or other relevant fields
• A strong portfolio showcasing photo editing, color grading, texture creation, and landscape photo manipulation skills
• Traditional art or photography background
