Senior Systems Administrator

PYRAMID Business Systems, Inc., an IT systems integrator located in the Binghamton, NY area serving Upstate NY and Northern PA, has an immediate opening for an experienced network engineer. Job Summary:

The primary role of this position is to assist with the design, implementation, maintenance, and primary support of smb and enterprise technology environments. This includes Windows, hyper-v, VMware, ESX infrastructure, storage, Active Directory, O365, development support & planning of systems and applications infrastructure, and support all levels as needed. Requires strong knowledge of server and desktop processing/operating systems that enables them to work at the highest level of all computer operations phases. Competent to handle complex problems multiple technology platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities/ Essential functions:

• Perform Windows server administration.
• Perform Microsoft Active Directory maintenance and configuration.
• Provide support and administration for all O365 related products.
• Design and manage application interfaces and dependencies.
• Provide architectural design and support for multiple application platforms.
• Develop and maintain platform network documentation.
• Provide tier 3 troubleshooting as required.
• Implementing new servers, workstations, printers, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, group policy, etc.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and other network infrastructure issues
• Implement network security measures
• Research new technologies
• Evaluate client IT requirements
• Remote and onsite Support

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with the following: (prefer 5+ years)
• High Level triage and troubleshooting
• Network Concepts
• Network Administration (layer 3 switching, firewalls, and wireless networks)
• Network and Application Security
• Active Directory
• Windows Servers
• VPN and Remote support
• Proficiency in Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Microsoft365, Azure AD/AADDS, Active Directory Domain Services, Windows 10, Windows Server 2019+, DHCP, DNS
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed to complete projects or resolve issues
• Strong project management skills
• Experience with managing technology
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Professional and effective communication skills
• Work as a team member
• Transportation and valid drivers license

Qualifications:

• Prior Service Desk or technical support role strongly preferred.
• High level of diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service mindset.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree; or a combination of education and experience that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Network Administration experience
• IT Related Certifications a plus
