Summary of Position Functions

The Senior Project Developer I - Federal will support Federal ESCP Development.

Essential Position Functions

  • Assists business development with sales strategy on individual accounts.
  • Develops technical responses to NOO ESPC Federal opportunities.
  • Models the financial deal economics experience to include use of DOE Project eBuilder and Enable spreadsheet tools to support production of TO schedules.
  • Performs technical assessments and energy solutions development for self-funding sitewide energy efficiency and resilience improvements.
  • Develops subcontractor relationships in multiple geographies.
  • Performs a technical development scope to support ECM solution bid packages necessary to meet FAR sourcing requirements.
  • Works with internal partners in development, project management, and service.
  • Analyzes the opportunities for energy savings and the development of measurement and verification strategies to document savings.
  • Generates facility PA and IGA reports to document scopes of work, energy savings measurement and verification, performance period O&M, and project risks and responsibilities.
  • Develops OMRR scopes of work to assure equipment availability and energy savings sustainability for the government while growing profitable energy service for Veregy.

Education and Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in a relevant field of study; and 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced engineering degree is preferred.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Federal ESPC market and contracting vehicles required.
  • Must have at least 10 years of project development experience in Federal vertical.
  • Must have strong knowledge of FEMP’s M&V guidelines and production of J8 IGA M&V documents.
  • Must have strong technical knowledge in key technologies such as lighting, HVAC, Central Plants, Refrigeration, Compressed Air and Steam Systems.
  • Must have strong knowledge of development of renewable energy technologies including Solar, Biogas and Wind.
  • Must have strong energy analysis skills.
  • Ability to spend time in-person with customers and travel frequently in assigned territory (Greater than 25% travel).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g., MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, and technical documents.
  • Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively before customers and staff.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
