Psychiatrist (Contractor/Fee for Service)

Requirements:
Licensed physician in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Board Certified in Psychiatry with one year of experience treating children/adolescents)
Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Preferred:
Experience working with clients who are in the child welfare system and knowledge of CASSP Principles and best practice guidelines
The Psychiatrist is responsible for the following duties:
Provides a culturally sensitive, strengths-based, psychiatric evaluation on each client referred to the OPC for services and/or admitted to the RTF, including a 5 axis psychiatric diagnosis and recommendations for treatment.
Oversees the development and implementation of treatment plans for all clients seen in the OPC and/or RTF.
Prescribes psychotropic medications as appropriate and provides medication management services consistent with each child’s needs and best practice guidelines.
Consults with foster parents/child care professionals, mental health clinicians, school personnel, social workers, and other involved professionals on psychiatric issues affecting the clients.
Provides clinical leadership to the staff of the OPC and/or RTF through participation in Treatment Team Reviews, offering case consultations as needed, and conducting staff trainings as requested by the Director of Mental Health Services and Director of Residential Treatment.
Is available 24 hours a day to respond to emergency situations, including situations involving the need for psychiatric hospitalization or adverse psychotropic medication reactions.
Other duties as requested by the Director of Mental Health Services or the Director of Residential Treatment.
Performs all responsibilities consistent with the Pennsylvania CASSP (Child and Adolescent Service System Program) principles and best practice guidelines.
