Solutions Engineer:
Rigado is looking for an entry level or junior Solutions Engineer to partner with our Solutions and Engineering teams in the definition, design, delivery, and support of large-scale Commercial IoT projects.
The Solutions Engineer is a member of the Rigado Customer Success organization collaborating with Sales, Product/Engineering, and directly with customers to support customers deployment and use of the Rigado platform. This individual will have a broad understanding of the Rigado solution, IoT ecosystem vendor solutions, industry best practices, and technology integration, demonstrating expertise and delivery of functional and technical solutions for our top tier customers.
This individual will also provide expert knowledge to customers through conducting detailed technical discovery and troubleshooting of issues. They will be responsible for providing feedback to Product Engineering with opportunities to contribute to Product to address issues and add new features to improve the Product. This role will also work with customers to successfully plan, deploy and support pilot deployments, guiding customers through to production.
Key Skills:
Experience with Networking; understanding the TCP/IP stack including DHCP requests, DNS, routing etc.
Experience compiling software for Linux. Bonus if you have experience with Ubuntu Core and/or the snapcraft ecosystem.
Note that we don’t need you to be a software engineer, but experience building and troubleshooting open-source software is a great start.
Self-sufficient with a high degree of autonomy and a passion for working within a dynamic startup-like environment
Deep technical troubleshooting – Reading logs, looking at diagnostics to piece together the story of what is going wrong
Relevant but not required Skills:
Experience with wireless protocols (especially Bluetooth Low Energy and 802.15.4)
Familiarity with TLS and x509 certificates
Familiarity with Docker and containerization deployment and management
Familiarity with MQTT protocol
Experience with Microsoft Azure and specifically Azure IoT Hub and Azure DPS
Experience with AWS and specifically AWS IoT Core
Responsibilities:
Taking ownership of customer issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution
Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve system issues
Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
Talk clients through a series of actions, either via video conferencing, email or chat, until they’ve solved a technical issue
Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. software developers)
Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions
Ensure all issues are properly logged
Prioritize and manage several open issues in parallel
Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
Prepare accurate and timely reports
Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
Base Qualifications:
- Linux and basic scripting experience
- Experience using networking debugging tools such as ping, traceroute, and curl
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Excellent customer service skills: in-person, on a video call, and written
- Proficient with: Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint and Excel, specifically)
- Knowledge of JIRA
Education and Experience Requirements:
B.S. Degree, preferably in a technical field. OR, 3+ years working in tech, in a similar capacity.
2+ years of on-the-job-experience in customer service (before, during and/or after educational experience).
