Lead Plumbing Technician

We are looking for a great plumbing technician to join our team! The Technician has a strong background in all aspects of plumbing disciplines and has the proven ability to lead a team of technicians. The responsibilities include using a few tools to install and service plumbing systems, observing company safety guidelines, documenting each project, providing material cost and time estimates, and training level I and II plumbing technicians. Pay starts at $28/hr. and is dependent on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts.
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Cutting, soldering, and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures.
• Drawing up preventative maintenance measures and explaining these to customers and other plumbers.
• Inspecting and testing plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.
• Handling customer queries and responding to call outs.
• The ability to run a large-scale job with little guidance.
• Troubleshooting and resolving problems.
• Obtaining equipment, tools, and materials for projects.
• Locating and identifying leaks.
• Repairing or replacing pipes and parts.
• Determining the right tools and equipment necessary to successfully complete a job.
• Assisting with preparing estimates for customers.
• Making sure that all work is in accordance with federal, state, and local plumbing codes.
• Cleaning the job site after the work is completed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a service plumber is mandatory.
• Completion or enrollment in a relevant apprenticeship program is beneficial.
• A willingness to learn on the job, take training, and earn a qualification as a Plumber Level III.
• Capacity to operate independently.
• Good math skills for accurate measurements.
• Experience with reading blueprints or electrical schematics.
• Critical thinker with good problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Availability to work after-hours and weekends.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
