Staff Accountant / Full Charge Bookkeeper

Stiver Engineering is growing. With more than 45+ years of service to our clients and the community, we are adding on to accounting team to meet the demands of our client base.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the A/R and A/P functions of our organization and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software in NetSuite

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions on a timely basis

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

- Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy

- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts

- Perform general ledger entries and journal entries

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information

- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and standards

- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards, including GAAP and familiarity with IFRS

- Work with the CFO to perform month-end and year-end close processes

- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures

- Provide support during audits or tax filings

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles,

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP)

- Proficiency in using accounting software via NetSuite

- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail

- Solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits, credits, and financial ratios

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
