Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for the position of Director of Programs. This senior leader will be part of the agency’s leadership team and will provide oversight and direction to all assigned programs in a community based human services setting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a successful program director with extensive program and team management experience. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for all aspects of program operations ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, data control, and quality management.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred in a management or health / human services field.
2. 8-10 years of program management, staff supervision, and federal/state grant delivery, reporting, and fiscal management experience in a non-profit setting.
3. Exceptional project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.
4. Demonstrated strength in developing, coaching, managing, and retaining staff, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility and performance.
5. A clear understanding and empathy for the challenges faced by resource and capacity limited communities and knowledge of health equity and economic and social determinants of health.
6. Demonstrated experience with implementing a quality management program.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
8. Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting.
9. Availability to work a flexible schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.
10. Proficiency with technology.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and manage program implementation, utilization, outcomes, and regulatory/fiscal compliance in all assigned program areas.
2. Supervise, develop, and evaluate staff, ensuring staff have the support, training, and other resources necessary to provide quality service.
3. Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of program goals and objectives ensuring that performance outcomes and contractual obligations are met.
4. Maintains a climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top-quality people, creating an inclusive and supportive work culture.
5. Participate in the development and monitoring of budget and fiscal resources for assigned program areas.
6. Serve as the primary grant contact, perform grant compliance functions, and maintain excellent working relationships and communication with government grant funders.
7. Produce meaningful and timely reports based on program data for management, funders, and other stakeholders.
8. Coordinate the agency Quality Improvement Plan using qualitative and quantitative processes for outcome and process improvements using the PDSA cycle and SMART goal setting.
9. Develop and annually update program-related policies and procedures that provide guidance to all program staff in the execution of their work.
10. Ensure and direct the development of regular and timely programmatic updates across all programs by leading team meetings to provide appropriate oversight, communication, and follow-up.
11. Assist in the completion of funding proposals and participate in fundraising efforts as needed.
12. Other duties as assigned.
