Disability Services of the Southwest is an established and growing non-profit agency based out of San Antonio with branches located in every major Texas city. Our Austin Tx. office is experiencing a growth spurt and we are seeking Therapists to work on a PRN basis, mostly performing assessments and evaluations. Definitely a potential to evolve into solid part time or full time work, but for the time being, come make some extra money on the side while you maintain your current job!
Our agency is the largest provider in Texas for CLASS program participants, mainly severely disabled children. We also provide on-going services to adults with disabilities as well. We need the following professionals to help provide much needed therapies and compassionate care to this population:
- Physical Therapist
Essential Tasks:
- Prepares an assessment of the patient’s condition and periodic evaluations and summaries.
- Participates in the development and periodic revision of the physician’s plan of treatment.
- Makes arrangements for outpatient services which cannot be given in the home.
- Records and reports to the physician the patient’s reaction to treatment and/or any changes in the patient’s conditions.
- Supervises the physical therapy assistant and evaluates the effectiveness of the services furnished by reviewing assistant’s notes.
- Communicates effectively with all those providing care.
Requirements:
- Current PT license in the State of Texas.
- One year of experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver’s license, and auto liability insurance
