Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Director of Technology
Reports To: Director of Technology
FLSA Status: Administrative
Approved Date: 03/26/2021

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
A successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership capabilities including the ability to create and sustain building-wide and district-wide systems for instructional support. They will engage in processes to minimize lost learning time by supporting technology personnel in the department’s daily, tactical operations. They will also work closely with the Director of Technology on vendor management, process improvement, and building relationships with stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
● Be a servant leader, supporting department personnel by removing daily, tactical obstacles to their success
● Collaborate with other stakeholders to execute technology implementation plans
● Act as a key contributor in creating, implementing, and supporting instructional programs for deeper learning
PK-12
● Work closely with every department to ensure quality technology integration, both instructional and operational
● Work closely with the Network Administrator and Systems Administrator to identify needs and make
recommendations to the Director of Technology for upgrades and/or replacement of district technology
● Respond to technology disruptions by assessing scope and impact to teaching and learning
● Prioritize the daily work of the Technology Department with a focus on minimizing lost learning time
● Oversee tactical operations of contracted service workers within, and on behalf of, the district
● Assist the Director of Technology, as needed, in developing an annual budget for the Technology Department
● Exemplify professionalism and courtesy at all times while representing the district
● Maintain confidentiality of all information encountered while representing the district, regardless of how the
information was encountered, where it is stored, or who maintains it
● Understand and accept that technology needs transcend the school day, and the Assistant Director of Technology will
occasionally be required to provide support beyond normal school or work hours
● Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid certificate/ license as issued by the Ohio Department of Education; Certificate, Licenses and/or registrations as applicable to position duties and responsibilities and/or as required by the Board of Education.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administration. Ability to read, analyze and interpret testing and survey results, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents,  agencies, teachers or members of the school community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to administration, staff, public groups, and/or Board of Education.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory based on school objectives. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication. Ability to use computers and appropriate technology where applicable. Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and Board of Education policies.
