HUD Compliance Specialist

Our client is a real estate firm. They seek a HUD Compliance Specialist to join their Queens, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for Section 8 and LIHTC units
- Handle Project Based Section 8 recertifications and LIHTC recertifications for blended site
- Comply with all EIV requirements (Have WASS ID, take EIV security awareness test annually, etc.)
- Produce and submit reminder notices to the residents at 120, 90, 60, and 30 days
- Commence holdover for Failure to Recertify by the second day of the effective month
- Prepare for tenant file reviews with investors, syndicators, and monitoring agencies audits
- Respond to investors, syndicators, HUD, PBCAs, and monitor agency audits
- Ready leases for residents and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Submit leases online to PHA promptly and assist residents with annual and interim recertifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ years of HUD compliance experience
- Real estate industry background required
- Experience with Section 8 and LIHTC
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical, organized, and able to multi-task
- Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
