Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA)
Location : Cary or Charlotte, NC

Responsibilities:
Manage database structure, storage allocation, access, roles, users, and privileges on Production and Non-Production database servers.
Monitor jobs and space usage in databases.
Perform Db2 checkouts and UTS conversion for development environments.
Execute UT conversion for production environments.
Create Db2 objects as per requests and handle DRDA requests.
Address and resolve database issues promptly.
Develop and implement new jobs and schedule existing ones.
Check and sign off on audit reports.
Conduct capacity planning for databases.
Prepare SQL queries for various database operations.
Participate in system and application meetings.
Assist in toggle migrations and pre-Db2 migration tasks.
Manage DB2 version releases for Production and Non-Production environments.
Perform daily monitoring activities including error log checks, log file size assessment, free space verification, index fragmentation analysis, and database connectivity verification.
Create jobs, alerts, and maintenance plans to ensure smooth database operations.
Execute database upgrades and migrations.
Provide database support including user permission management, backup/restore activities, index fragmentation analysis, statistics updates, and resolution of performance-related issues in client-server environments.
Create and manage clustered and non-clustered indexes to enhance database query performance.
Address space issues on both Production and Non-Production database servers.
Document known issues and create knowledge articles.
Design and manage database backups.
Perform performance tuning on databases and systems.
Manage patches and upgrades for databases on servers.
Troubleshoot day-to-day issues with applications.
Manage space and device resources effectively.
Configure and manage Production and Test databases, including creating new databases as needed.
