Summary

Grameen America Inc (GAI) is seeking a Technical Lead to join the engineering team which supports the entire organization with digital solutions and tools. This role requires an understanding of modern technologies and methodologies, architectural principles, and all aspects of the software development lifecycle. This person will be responsible for managing, delivering and maintaining high-quality cross-platform technical projects and will work in collaboration with internal teams as well as external partner and vendor teams. This position currently reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be highly committed to Grameen America’s mission and highly motivated towards success.
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience as a tech professional and 2 years of experience as a technology lead.
  • Led a team of 2 or more technical professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Advanced in collaborating with the product and quality assurance teams to ensure high quality in project delivery.
  • Advanced in upholding established development processes (e.g. code reviews, style guides, pattern libraries)
  • Experienced in managing vendors and vendors platforms.
  • Experienced in architecture and solution design including services, applications and databases.
  • Experienced in one or more industry standard programming languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Node
  • Experienced working with CI/CD
  • Experienced and proficient in source control (git/GitHub)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with the CTO, oversee and maintain the current technology stack of systems and tools across the organization. Maintain internal API service layer and work with the engineers on API design and development.
  • Lead technical projects and initiatives from inception to delivery. Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather technical requirements and architect solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Manage vendors and vendor platforms, ensuring effective communication and adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Implement and promote agile methodologies to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues for staff using the IT Support ticketing system. Roll up sleeves and actively participate in problem-solving and troubleshooting activities as needed.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the technical team and across the organization.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.

TRAVEL:

  • Attend quarterly staff meetings in New York City required. Travel and lodging at employee expense.
  • Travel to field branches on periodic basis.
  • Position is currently remote but may be subject to a hybrid schedule in the future.
