Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for continuously pursuing HR functional excellence and supporting PECO’s business and company values specifically focusing on creating a highly engaged workforce. including Payroll processing, onboarding, training and Employee Relations. The HRBP is also responsible to oversee policies, procedures and payroll relating to assigned business units as well as ensuring all human resource activities are in compliance with local, state and federal laws.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Establish collaborative business relationship with business unit and depot management teams
  • Lead, communicate, and coach to cultivate a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, and self-confidence.
  • Coaches and trains managers in both union and non union environments regarding communication, feedback, recognition, union avoidance and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them.
  • Monitors and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company. Monitors the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees.
  • Conduct investigations and advises leaders in the appropriate resolution of employee related issues.
  • Prepare all required reports such as EEO-1 and file.
  • Utilizing LEAN tools, identify, document, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide assistance for the collection and review of weekly time records for a segment of hourly employees and incentive information.
  • Provide assistance and become a proficient backup for the timely Input and Transmittal of weekly hourly payroll for PECO Depots.
  • Work with HR team members to ensure up to date and accurate records in the HRIS, including those for new hires, terminations, employee changes & personal information, LOAs, EEO reporting, benefits and other info as needed.
  • Work with HR team members to ensure federal and state compliance in record keeping, I-9 documentation (E-Verify), medical files Workers’ compensation files and other confidential employee information
  • Assist with the processing all benefits enrollments, terminations, changes and corrections in ADP Workforce Now payroll.
  • Utilizes the HRIS system to eliminate administrative tasks, empower employees, and meet the other needs of the organization.
  • Special projects and other assignments as needed.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • HR Certification a plus or equivalent in HR/Payroll service experience
  • Bilingual – Spanish
  • Ability to travel to other PECO locations is required
  • Experience with ADP/Paycor – Preferred
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • General knowledge of various state and federal employment laws and practices
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
  • Strong Communication skills, verbal and written, with ability to compose original content
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Self starter
  • Analytical and intuitive/creative thinking and problem solving,
  • Sense of urgency and accountability
  • Highest personal and professional integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects under deadline.

Travel

  • Based on Business Needs – approximately 10% to 20%
