Responsibilities:
- Support the conceptual design of structures, platforms, and pipe supports using drafting and 3D design tools.
- Develop structural design criteria for standard and project-specific designs.
- Perform structural analysis for gas turbine enclosures, pipe racks, and pipe supports, including common analysis of piping and structures.
- Design welded and bolted connections.
- Issue structural drawings for project-specific applications.
- Review, control, and own structural 3D models.
- Write technical specifications as required.
- Review vendor drawings as necessary.
- Interface with various disciplines at all levels.
- Provide engineering assistance to plant construction.
- Resolve all field interference issues.
- Travel as required.
- Participate in a vendor surveillance program and assist in supplier quality assurance.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a focus on Structural Design.
- 5+ years of experience in designing industrial structures and performing structural analysis using computer software.
- 5+ years of experience in connection design.
- Experience with structural steel fabrication requirements, material selections, and writing fabrication specifications.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages such as Word and Excel.
- Experience with Eurocode.
- Familiarity with analysis software such as Bentley STAAD or Risa 3D.
- Experience in designing structures to support piping and equipment for the Power and Process industry.
- Familiarity with Bentley Open Plant.
