At C & A Scientific, we specialize in the manufacturing and private labeling of medical equipment and consumables, science education products, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) toys. For over 30 years, we have supplied more than 700 award-winning medical and STEM-inspired products to distributors and retailers worldwide. 


C & A Scientific is looking for a Business Development & Sales Manager.  The Manager manages the sales team(s) and supporting operations required to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Generates new business development with named/identified prospects.
  2. Manages and develops relationships with customers and provides consultative sales advice that delivers the highest level of account management services.
  3. Positions, configures and quotes product and service solutions to clients.
  4. Negotiates and assists Business Development Associates in closing transactions through the development of executive-level relationships with key prospects.
  5. Works cross-functionally to align prioritization & resources amongst, sales, marketing, customer success.
  6. Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales solutions strategies and sales goals.
  7. Ongoing mentoring and development of the team which includes recruiting, hiring and coaching new Sales Account Managers.
  8. Implements processes, tools, and structures to support the Sales organization's operations.
  9. Conducts long-term and short-term goal setting for teams and individuals and uses data to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance.
  10. Monitors the industry, business environment, competitors, and customers to develop action plans for expanding and retaining the customer base.
  11. Uses customer feedback and insights to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and suggest new products.
  12. Builds and develops effective sales and support teams with recruiting, mentoring, and training.
  13. Participates in meetings, presentations, and demos to support or close strategic or high-value sales.
  14. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  15. Gives input into developing the budget.


    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP(s)


    The Business Development & Sales Manager reports to the Director of Finance & Strategy.


    JOB CLASSIFICATION


    The Business Development & Sales Manager position is a salaried, exempt position and not eligible for overtime pay.  This position is eligible for bonus and/or commission in addition to a base salary.


    QUALIFICATIONS


    • Bachelor's degree in related field required
    • 5+ years related experience in a as an individual sales contributor with 1 - 3 years supervisory experience
    • Strong customer executive presence required
    • Client-focused attitude — a customer advocate
    • Possess strong phone, written, and verbal communication skills with excellent presentation skills
    • Accountability and personal organization are essential
    • Ability to review and analyze sales and operational reports, and use data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Proven experience of working with internal and external stakeholders
    • Proven experience of working in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent multitasking and project management skills
    • Understanding of Internet and web applications with a desire to learn new technologies
    • Proficiency with MS Office

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS


    This position is primarily office-based with exposure to typical indoors environment hazards.  This position may work in close proximity to others with exposure to typical business office equipment and technologies.  May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
