Custodian Janitor

The janitor/cleaner is a professional who is a vital part of any business. They are responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy facility by completing various tasks. This can include dusting, mopping and vacuuming floors, disinfecting surfaces, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash and recycle cans, and various other housekeeping tasks.

Primary Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning, stocking, and supplying designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning restrooms, cleaning ceiling vents, etc.)

• Stock and maintain supply rooms.

• Carrying out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects when needed.

• Follow all health and safety regulations.

• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repair.

• Cooperate with the rest of the staff.

Requirements and Skills

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

• Working experience as a cleaner preferred • Ability to handle cleaning equipment and machinery.

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.

• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

• Integrity and strong work ethic

Additional Factors

• Must pass criminal and motor vehicle background check prior to starting position.

• Must have a current driver’s license and auto insurance.
