Real Estate Accountant

Gpac, a seasoned recruiting firm with over 30 years of expertise, has joined forces with a reputable real estate company in search of a skilled Property Accountant. This is with a reputable company with a small team that is close-knit and ready to bring on a new all-star!

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting functions related to commercial properties, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Support budget preparation and periodic forecasts, analyzing performance and providing insights to management.
• Review commercial lease agreements, accurately recording transactions and resolving any discrepancies.
• Manage property tax and CAM payments, reconciling expenses with budget allocations.
• Conduct financial analysis to assess property performance and aid decision-making processes.
• Uphold compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Excel.
• Sound knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
