Legal Project Manager

Our client, A large full-service multinational law firm is looking to fulfill the need for a Legal Project Manager. This position reports on a fully remote basis, however, must be based in New York.

Employment type: Direct Hire | M-F | 9am – 5:30pm PT *Remote*

Salary: $153,700 - $185,000 DOE / Annually (+ Benefits) *Exempt*

The Legal Project Manager develops, implements, and coordinates legal project management tools, trains attorneys to use those tools, and leverages best practices in matter management. Offers scalable matter support within team environments or one-on-one, across multiple practice groups, and for clients of all sizes. This PM develops methods to promote firm best practices and builds a repository of models and templates.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead firm-wide budget outreach and compliance reporting
• Implement best practices, tools, budget templates, and reference materials across the firm’s client portfolio
• Ensure that internal stakeholders are receiving timely, accurate and polished presentation materials, budgets, and project related reports
• Buildout and facilitate training for senior attorneys on identifying when to employ best practices on client engagement
• Benchmark and track expectations with clients and internal engagement team members
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients to define matter management strategies and goals
• Bring forth proven project management guidance on best practices, roles, and responsibilities
• Identify issues, options for resolution and course correction on matters that begin to diverge from initial expectations
• Complete post-project assessments, and recommend/implement improvements as needed

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must possess a 4-year bachelor’s degree with a concentration in finance, accounting, or a related field of study. Three to five years’ professional work experience in project management, analyst, or business development role – preferably within a professional service environment. Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and organized approach to daily work, with the ability to manage multiple projects, clients, and timelines simultaneously. Technical proficiency in financial modeling and high-level spreadsheet knowledge for data-management, manipulation, and analysis. Additional experience in all MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word,). Knowledge of writing SQL queries is a plus. Desired candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders and leaders.
