Job Description

Ohio Health Benefits is seeking a seasonal team member who has a passion for providing excellent service. The ideal candidate will have a friendly personality while also being very perceptive, organized and disciplined. Ultimately, you will help maintain our reputation as a company that offers excellent support.

If you are available to work weekdays September through Early December, this is a great opportunity for you!

Education and Experience: Previous experience in Customer Service preferred. Familiarity with the health insurance industry is a plus but is not required. Must possess strong communication, organizational, data entry and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls and offer support to customers and potential customers
  • Forward customers calls to the appropriate Benefit Consultant
  • Record details of customer interactions in CRM software
  • Update client records in CRM software
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors
  • Type in data quickly, efficiently and accurately
  • Operate common office equipment such as copy machines, printers, scanners

Knowledge:

  • Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Clerical – Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Computers and Electronics – Knowledge of Office Suite of products. Expected to learn our internal systems such as Benefit Zone and Sharepoint.

Skills:

  • Active Learning – Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusion or approaches to problems.
  • Speaking – Talking to clients and co-workers to convey information effectively.
  • Writing – Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Time Management – Managing one’s own time to ensure that the needs of OHB and our clients are being handled.
  • Other required skills: Attention to detail, computer knowledge, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
