Environmental Services Supervisor

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Candidate is responsible for supervising the daily duties required while on shift and ensuring that all employees are working in line with set standards. Candidate must realize that this is a hands-on position assuming similar responsibilities as the attendant position as needed. Candidate will also perform other duties as assigned by management.

Candidate is responsible for supervising the attendants. Candidate must understand that this is a hands-on position, not limited to: overall supervision following budget directives, staff meetings, ensuring overall quality and cleanliness of the facility as directed by management.

This candidate will work most closely with various departments to coordinate as well as insure that the day to day cleanliness and specific maintenance related to housekeeping are completed.

The position requires following documented cleaning schedules, training programs for staff to insure they are working in a safe manner as well as a safe environment.

The Supervisor reports guest concerns to management and assists in exploring solutions.

This is an upbeat position requiring continuous motivation while creating an exciting work environment in a busy operation. The candidate must be guest oriented and have the ability to direct housekeeping staff in a public setting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1-year housekeeping supervisory experience preferred but not required. Candidate must be physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach with or without reasonable accommodation.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively after groups of customers or employees of organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Candidate will be exposed to smoke on the casino floor. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

The employee may also be required to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs independently and more than 50lbs with assistance.
