Join a leading facilities services company in Winchester, MA, as an Accounting Manager, where your expertise will drive critical financial operations and contribute to overall growth. Step into a pivotal role as the sole member of the accounting department, where you will spearhead daily accounting operations, managing a broad spectrum of functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and support budgeting and forecasting activities. Qualified candidates will be excellent communicators, natural problem solvers, with an impeccable attention to detail and will excel in autonomous operations while also collaborating effectively with diverse teams to drive company-wide financial initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the financial strategy of an expanding company, with clear pathways to progress towards the senior executive level, including a potential future role as Controller.

Accounting Manager (5+ yrs progressive accounting exp. req.) Responsibilities

•    Manage and process accounts payable; ensure timely payment and accurate record-keeping
•    Oversee accounts receivable, process cash payment receipts, and reconcile accounts
•    Perform regular account reconciliations; ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
•    Process payroll, including benefits and deductions, and reconciliations
•    Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
•    Contribute to annual budget development
•    Manage month-end close process; journal entries, accruals, and preparation of financial statements
•    Prepare financial reports, analyze trends, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
•    Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
•    Manage cash flow and working capital to optimize financial performance

Accounting Manager (5+ yrs progressive accounting exp. req.) Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline required
•    5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
•    Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, fixed assets and preparation of financial statements required
•    Payroll processing experience required 
•    Experience with financial reporting and analysis required
•    Proficient with accounting software and MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) required
•    Strong understanding of GAAP and other regulatory standards required
