KABC-TV Graphic Artist/Broadcast Designer

KABC-TV is seeking a talented and creative Graphic Artist/Broadcast Designer to join our dynamic team. As a leading television station in Los Angeles, we take pride in delivering high-quality news, entertainment, and community programming to our viewers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your artistic skills and contribute to the visual identity of our station.

• Collaborate with the news and production teams to create enticing and visually impactful on-air graphics for news programs, promotional materials, and commercials
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of design elements, fonts, and templates to ensure consistent branding across all platforms
• Translate creative ideas and concepts into compelling visual designs using industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite
• Generate and animate graphics, lower thirds, and other visual elements for live broadcasts and pre-recorded segments
• Work closely with reporters, writers, and producers to create engaging and informative infographics and data visualizations
• Take ownership of assigned projects from concept to completion, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Stay current with industry trends and techniques to continually elevate the visual quality of our on-air graphics

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field
• Proven experience as a graphic artist or broadcast designer, preferably in a television or media environment
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
• Strong understanding of motion graphics, typography, and color theory
• Knowledge of video editing software, such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro, is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• A portfolio showcasing a range of design work and creativity
